A high-quality, exceptionally vibrant, and richly flowering annual variety of salvia, captivating gardeners and lovers of fiery, bright plantings with its saturated tone, outstanding uniformity, and superior quality. This elegant ornamental plant is specially suited for safe and stable cultivation in flowerbed borders, carpet plantings, balcony boxes, and decorative terrace pots, ensuring compact, visually perfect, and strongly branched clumps. The plants grow neatly, in a bushy form, reaching 25 to 30 cm in height, and boast large, smooth, bright green leaves and sturdy stems that bear grandiose, dense, and fiery red flower spikes. The packaging from the renowned Polish manufacturer W. Legutko guarantees excellent, professionally selected seed quality and maximum germination rates for a successful and generous start to the summer and autumn ornamental garden season.
🌱 Suitable for:
  • Fiery bright garden borders and geometric patterns: This is the most popular summer flower for creating expressive, dense, and bright lines around flowerbeds, in urban plantings, and park parterres.
  • Creating contrast with other plants: The saturated red flower spikes serve as an excellent color accent, making adjacent white, yellow, or silvery plants (e.g., cinerarias or marigolds) visually sparkle.
  • Cultivation in terrace pots and balcony boxes: Due to its compact and extremely dense growth habit, red salvia is one of the best choices for planting in decorative containers and mixed-type balcony flower compositions.
  • Long-lasting and continuous garden splendor: An excellent choice for gardeners who want to enjoy a sea of flowers from early summer until the first autumn frosts, as salvia tirelessly produces new and new fiery flower buds.
Main advantages:
  • Fiery red and eye-catching color: This variety stands out with its pure, intensely bright, and shimmering red tone, which does not fade or lose its splendor even throughout the summer in intense and direct sunlight.
  • Compact, sturdy, and well-branched dwarf form: The plant independently forms neat, dense clumps (approximately 25–30 cm tall) that firmly withstand wind and heavy rain, without collapsing or spoiling the well-maintained appearance of the flowerbed.
  • Large, dense, and expressive flower spikes: The inflorescences are long and exceptionally thick, rising so massively above the foliage when in bloom that they visually dominate and illuminate the entire flowerbed.
  • Excellent adaptability to weather conditions: The plant possesses great vitality, it tolerates summer heat well after rooting and maintains its excellent ornamental value until late autumn.
  • High-quality seed germination and vigor: W. Legutko's professionally selected seeds are distinguished by high germination capacity and optimal 0.5 g packaging, ensuring strong, harmonious, and dynamic development of young plants in the garden.

⚙️ Cultivation instructions and recommendations:
  • Soil and site selection: Salvias require a completely open, maximally sunny, warm site protected from prevailing winds. The soil should be fertile, loose, rich in humus, and exceptionally well-drained. In heavy, cold, and impermeable clay soil, the plant will languish, and its flowering will be poor.
  • Sowing times and seedling cultivation: To ensure early and abundant flowering in early summer, seeds should be sown indoors or in a greenhouse from late February to March. Sow seeds shallowly in moist substrate, approximately 0.3 cm deep, or lightly press them into the soil surface, and maintain constant warmth (+20–22°C). Seedlings emerge uniformly within 10–14 days.
  • Seedling care and planting out: When young plants develop 2–3 true leaves, prick them out into individual pots. To stimulate bushiness and better branching, it is recommended to pinch off the tips of young plants above the second or third pair of leaves in a timely manner. Hardened seedlings are planted out in their permanent location in the garden or outdoor pots in the second half of May after the last frosts, as salvia is particularly sensitive to cold in the initial phase. When creating borders, plant seedlings in a row, maintaining a distance of 20–25 cm.
  • Watering and care: Regular and moderate watering is necessary – the soil should not completely dry out, especially during the root development and mass flowering phases, but it must be protected from excessive wetness. To stimulate continuous formation of new flower spikes, old, spent stems should be regularly cut off along with their stalks.
📦 Storage:
Store seeds in a dry, cool, and dark place in their original and tightly sealed packaging until sowing. Protect from moisture and extreme temperature fluctuations.
