A high-quality, exceptionally early and highly valued Single Early Tulip variety among gardeners, which is the first to delight spring gardens and terraces with its elegant form and expressive, vibrant hue. Mandy's Choice is a symbol of spring awakening and sunny energy. These tulips form classic, distinctly smooth and sturdy cup-shaped inflorescences in a bright and warm coral pink to vivid salmon pink color with a silvery sheen and a yellow base inside the flower. This variety stands out for its excellent resistance to fluctuating spring weather conditions and a short, remarkably strong stem. Premium class 11/12 size bulbs contain the highest concentration of nutrients, guaranteeing magnificent blooming already in the first spring [1]. The generous pack of 7 bulbs provides the perfect volume for creating a neat, uniform group of flowers.
🌷 Suitable for:
  • Early spring arrangements and flower beds: As this is one of the very first tulip varieties to bloom in the garden, it is a perfect choice for opening the spring season in central beds and along pathways.
  • Growing in decorative pots and balcony boxes: Thanks to its compact growth habit, this variety is the best choice for planting in outdoor containers, which will adorn your terrace, balcony, or house entrance in early spring.
  • Premium cut flower bouquets: The sturdy, straight stems make this tulip a florist's favorite for creating early spring bouquets – the flowers retain their firm shape and vibrant color in a vase for a long time.
  • Forcing tulips indoors: This variety is professionally recognized and exceptionally suitable for forcing in pots on a windowsill in late winter or early spring to enjoy the flowers indoors before the outdoor season begins.
Key advantages:
  • Excellent and stable 11/12 bulb size: This is the professional premium caliber that guarantees maximum flower bud strength, ensuring large, full, and healthy flowers [1].
  • Elegant, warm, and vibrant color palette: The coral pink hue attracts attention with its sunny, romantic mood and pairs perfectly with other "Prince" series or early tulips (e.g., white or yellow).
  • Short, sturdy, and wind-resistant stem: The compact growth (about 35–40 cm) makes this tulip extremely stable – it will never collapse or break even in heavy spring rain or strong winds.
  • Even and friendly blooming: All 7 bulbs in the package develop and bloom simultaneously, creating a visually perfect, uniform, and dense group of flowers in your garden or pot.
  • Highest bulb germination and vigor: The bulbs are professionally prepared and treated, which ensures strong root system development in autumn and even, dynamic emergence of new shoots in spring.

⚙️ Planting instructions and recommendations:
  • Location and soil selection: Tulips prefer an open, sunny, and well-lit spot in the garden (slight partial shade is also acceptable). The soil should be loose, light, fertile, deeply worked, and rich in humus (sandy loam or clay-sandy soil). Neutral pH (6.5–7.0) and excellent drainage are desirable. Tulips absolutely cannot tolerate stagnant moisture and waterlogged soil, which rapidly causes bulb rot in winter or spring. For pot cultivation, a 2–3 cm thick layer of expanded clay for drainage must be placed at the bottom.
  • Planting depth and spacing: The planting depth of the bulbs should be equal to three times the height of the bulb (for 11/12 size, this is approximately 10 cm deep from the base of the bulb to the soil surface). The recommended spacing between bulbs in a bed is about 10 cm, but in pots, they can be planted more densely (2–3 cm apart) to achieve a maximally lavish effect. For a visually impressive group, it is recommended to plant all 7 bulbs in the package at once in a neat "nest" or use special bulb planting baskets.
  • Care in spring and after flowering: As soon as the first shoots appear in spring, carefully loosen the soil around them and apply additional fertilization with a complex spring fertilizer. If spring is prolonged and dry, regular watering must be provided. Once the tulips have finished blooming, it is imperative to break off or cut the old flower heads (seed pods) so that the plant does not expend energy on seeds, but instead directs all its energy to developing a new, strong bulb underground.
  • Leaf preservation and digging up: After flowering, tulip leaves and stems must absolutely not be cut off until they naturally yellow and dry out (usually by the end of June or July) – the bulb receives valuable nutrients through the leaves. To maintain high variety quality and protect against diseases, it is recommended to dig up tulip bulbs every year (or at least once every two years) in mid-summer, thoroughly dry them in a warm, ventilated room, and replant them in autumn.
📦 Storage until planting:
Until planting in autumn, store tulip bulbs in a dry, cool (approximately +15°C to +18°C), dark, and well-ventilated room, in breathable (paper or net) packaging. Protect from moisture and rodent access.
