⚙️ Growing instructions and recommendations:
- Seedling preparation: Sow seeds in individual pots at the end of April, approximately 1.5–2 cm deep. Germination requires stable warmth (+24°C to +28°C) and a well-lit location. Plants form vines about 2 meters long.
- Transplanting to a permanent location: Transplant young seedlings to beds or a greenhouse in late May or early June, when the risk of spring frosts has completely passed. The recommended distance is approximately 100x50 cm between plants.
- Location and soil selection: Choose the sunniest, warmest, and most wind-protected corner of the garden. The soil should be loose, fertile, and moist. Growing on black agrofilm or in tunnels works very well, as it additionally warms and maintains soil temperature.
- Determining ripeness: Watermelon is fully ripe when its skin turns distinctly bright yellow and, when lightly tapped, a pronounced hollow sound is heard. Harvest from late July to September.
