• Important safety rules: Never use steel or metal containers to prepare and mix the solution! Only use plastic, glass or enameled containers. Perform treatment in dry and windless weather, preferably in the morning or evening.
• Choosing solution concentration:
  • 0.5% solution (during vegetation): 100g copper vitriol + 150g lime + 20 liters of water.
  • 1% solution (universal): 100g copper vitriol + 150g lime + 10 liters of water.
  • 3% solution (early spring before buds): 100g copper vitriol + 150g lime + 3.5 liters of water.
• Preparation steps (for 1% mixture):
  1. In one container, dissolve 100g of copper sulfate in 5 liters of water.
  2. In a second container, slowly slake 150g of lime in a small amount of water and then add water up to 5 liters (creating lime milk).
  3. In the resulting lime milk, slowly pour in the copper sulfate solution in a thin stream and stir continuously.
• Application with a sprayer: Pour the freshly prepared and strained solution through a fine sieve into a garden sprayer and spray the plants evenly. The prepared Bordeaux mixture should be used on the same day.
