High-quality, late, and exceptionally high-yielding carrot variety on a 6-meter long, ready-to-use seed tape, guaranteeing maximum yield and easy sowing without tedious thinning of seedlings. Flakkese 2 is one of the most popular and reliable late carrot varieties, standing out in the garden with its large, massive root structure and excellent durability. The special seed tape ensures that the seeds are placed at precise, optimal distances during sowing. This prevents the young shoots from competing with each other and allows each root to grow straight, massive, and smooth. Toraf seed tape is completely biodegradable, safe for the environment, and significantly simplifies daily gardening tasks.
🥕 Suitable for:
- Long-term storage and winter supplies: The highest-level choice for long-term storage – roots perfectly retain their freshness, firmness, and crunchiness in the cellar or sand until late spring.
- Gardeners who want to save time: An ideal solution for those who want to completely avoid the tiring and time-consuming task of thinning carrots in early summer.
- Home cooking, soups, and stews: Excellent for all types of heat treatment, vegetable stews, as well as preserving winter vegetable salads and lecho in jars.
- Juicing healthy autumn juices: The roots contain a large amount of juice and a high concentration of carotene, making this variety ideal for preparing thick and vitamin-rich homemade juices.
✨ Main advantages:
- Sowing without thinning in spring: The tape ensures precise seed placement – carrots will not grow too densely, and seedlings will not need to be pulled out, which protects the roots of neighboring plants from damage.
- Large, massive, and conical roots: Carrots grow into distinct, long conical shapes with a pointed tip, reaching an average length of 22 to 24 centimeters. They are notably heavy, dense, and large.
- Vibrant and intense color throughout the cross-section: The root is fully colored in a deep, dark red-orange hue both externally and throughout its internal flesh, ensuring a high concentration of carotene.
- Biodegradable material: The seed tape is made from natural and soluble cellulose, which quickly dissolves in the soil under the influence of moisture, without completely hindering seed germination and root development.
- Excellent pest protection: By sowing with tape and observing the correct depth, seeds are safely protected from ants, birds, and washing out during heavy spring rains.

⚙️ Sowing instructions and recommendations:
- Soil preparation: As this variety produces very long and massive roots, carrots require deeply dug, loose, light, and well-drained soil, preferably loamy sand or sandy loam. Before sowing, carefully clear the bed of stones and large clods of earth to prevent roots from branching.
- Sowing time and depth: Carrot tape is sown from April to May in prepared furrows at a depth of about one to one and a half centimeters. The recommended distance between sowing rows is twenty to thirty centimeters.
- Applying the tape: Unroll the tape into the prepared furrow, cut to the required length, and water generously so that the tape immediately becomes moist and adheres to the soil. Then cover the furrow with a thin layer of soil and gently press down.
- Critical moisture factor: After sowing, ensure that the soil in the bed is consistently moist for at least the first two to three weeks, until the carrots begin to germinate. If the soil dries out, the seed tape will harden, and the seeds will not be able to germinate.
