- Universal preparation of the working area: Before scattering the granules, it is advisable to level the soil surface around the plants and remove larger weeds so that slugs cannot use them as a "bridge" over the barrier.
- Creating protective strips (recommended method): Scatter the granules in a continuous, even strip around the protected flowerbed or individual plant clumps. The recommended width of the protective strip is approximately 2–4 centimeters, and the thickness is approximately 0.5–1 centimeter.
- Continuous circle control: Ensure that there are no gaps or breaks in the created mineral circle through which slugs could pass.
