- Care and most important rule: During the rapid growth period and before flowering, sunflowers require a large amount of moisture, so on hot summer days, they should be watered regularly and abundantly. To protect the long flower stems from breaking in strong autumn winds, it is advisable to tie the plants in more exposed areas to stable supports in time.
