An exotic and romantic natural masterpiece, with peony-like volume and exquisite pink edging!
If you are looking for a flower that will bring an impeccable sense of luxury, artistic charm, and romantic sophistication to your garden or terrace design, the Asian ranunculus variety Picotee Rose will be an excellent and sought-after choice. This plant delights gardeners and florists worldwide with its unique, two-tone color combination and multi-layered structure, which visually resembles luxurious spring peonies or silky roses. Picotee Rose is an outstanding and elegant tool in garden design that will instantly become the main intrigue and magnet of any flowerbed.

🌟 Two-tone splendor and silky satin volume
This variety is a compact, elegant, and bushy branched plant that typically reaches 30 to 40 centimeters in height. From its base, it forms a neat, deeply lobed, and very decorative, lush green rosette of leaves, from which sturdy, succulent, and straight flower stems emerge. The stems stand out for their good structural strength and stably bear the weight of large, heavy flowers, without collapsing even in strong winds.
The blooming climax occurs in early to mid-summer, most often from June until August. At the ends of the stems, incredibly magnificent, densely double, spherical flowers bloom, reaching 6 to 8 centimeters in diameter. Each flower consists of hundreds of delicate, paper-like and silky petals, arranged in perfect, concentric rings. Their color is pure poetry: the base tone of the petals is a soft creamy white, ivory, or light cream watercolor, while the edge of each petal is adorned with an expressive, delicate, and vibrant rosy pink or fuchsia pink border. This elegant color contrast gives the flower a stunning three-dimensional effect, depth, and a light satin shimmer. The flowers have practically no scent, which is a huge advantage for people with sensitive noses or allergies.

🛡️ Tough tubers and reliable garden protection
Unlike classic bulb varieties, the underground part of ranunculus consists of small, unusual tubers that visually resemble small cloves or spider-like tendrils. These tubers are very tough and store enormous energy for abundant and prolonged summer flowering.
Underground, ranunculus tubers do not seem appealing to rodents because they contain specific sap substances, so moles, water voles, and mice usually avoid these plantings. This means that your client can be completely confident in the safety of their exclusive planting. Above ground, the splendid, open flowers serve as an excellent source of nectar, actively attracting bees, bumblebees, and colorful summer butterflies, enlivening the surrounding environment.

🏡 Application in garden design, pot culture, and floristry
Due to its compact size and unique two-tone hue, Picotee Rose is very versatile in the garden and indoors:
    • For romantic and pastel-toned beds: It is a perfect choice for planting at the front of flowerbeds, where the unique pink border playfully stands out next to blue salvias, lavenders, pink roses, or silvery wormwood.
    • For growing in flower pots and balcony boxes: This variety is a top favorite among garden designers for growing in large containers and pots on terraces, balconies, or for courtyard landscaping, where its perfect, peony-like shape and delicate border can be enjoyed at close range.
    • Queen of floristry and festive bouquets: Ranunculi are among the most sought-after and expensive flowers in the world of floristry. Their straight, strong stems and dense, double flowers add a distinctly romantic texture to summer bouquets and bridal bouquets, and they remain fresh and impeccable in a vase indoors for an incredibly long time, even up to two weeks.

    🌱 Practical information for cultivation
    • Planting time: Tubers are planted in the garden in spring, preferably in April and early May, after the time of heavy night frosts has passed. Important professional tip: Before planting, it is highly recommended to soak the small tubers in lukewarm water for 3 to 4 hours (the tubers will absorb moisture, swell, and become twice as large), which will ensure quick, uniform, and successful germination.
    • Location and soil: Will thrive best in full sun or very bright, moderate partial shade, in a sheltered location. The soil should be rich in humus, fertile, neutral, loose, and light. The most important condition is excellent drainage. The plant does not tolerate standing water, which can cause the tubers to rot.
    • Planting depth: Tubers are planted approximately 5 centimeters deep, always with the "claws" or "tendrils" facing downwards. When planting, it is desirable to leave a distance of approximately 10 to 15 centimeters between them. For maximum and visually lush effect, it is recommended to plant them in larger groups of 5, 10, or more tubers together, creating magnificent, artistic flower islands.
    • Wintering: As Asian ranunculi come from warmer regions, they do not overwinter in the ground in Latvian winters. In autumn, when the foliage has naturally yellowed and died back after flowering, and before severe frost sets in, the tubers are carefully dug up, cleaned of soil, lightly dried, and stored in a dry, cool, and dark place (e.g., a cellar or cool pantry) until the next spring.
