A high-quality, very early heterozygous hybrid variety (Tytus F1), specifically bred for growing high-value, small gherkin-type cucumbers in open fields. This Polish hybrid stands out for its pronounced natural vigor, rapid growth, and very high initial yield, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest of cucumbers from early summer. The fruits are neat, short, and symmetrical, with light green skin, distinct longitudinal stripes, and medium-sized warts. These seeds are an indispensable choice for any gardener who wants to grow small, firm, and crispy cucumbers that are perfect for homemade pickling and preserving.

🌱 Suitable for:
  • Growing small gherkins: This variety is ideal for harvesting fruits when they are very small and short, at their best structure for making gherkins.
  • Premium pickling and preserving: Due to their dense and firm structure, they retain their crispiness in jars after heat treatment, creating an exquisite winter snack.
  • Homemade fermenting and quick pickling: Excellent for quick pickling during the summer season – the small cucumbers absorb salt and spices evenly, retaining firm flesh without hollows.
  • Fresh consumption directly from the garden: Thanks to their juicy, aromatic, and tender flesh without bitterness, they are an excellent and healthy summer snack for the whole family.
Key Benefits:
  • Very high early yield: One of the earliest varieties to start producing, yielding sooner than other hybrids, allowing you to enjoy the first crispy cucumbers at the beginning of summer.
  • Excellent complex resistance: Tytus F1 has high natural resistance to downy mildew and scab in cucurbits, ensuring healthy plants and a stable harvest even in unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Genetically protected against bitterness: Even on hot and dry summer days, these cucumbers do not accumulate bitter compounds, retaining a pleasant, mild, and naturally sweet taste.
  • Excellent structure without hollows: The fruits have a very small seed cavity and dense flesh, ensuring they do not soften during processing and fermentation.
  • Highest quality Polish seeds: PNOS (Polskie Nasiona Ogrodnictwa) guarantees strict seed selection and high germination rates, ensuring strong seedling development from the very first days.

⚙️ Instructions for use and proportions:
  • Soil and site preparation: Cucumbers require fertile, humus-rich, warm, and well-drained soil. It is best to choose a sunny and wind-protected location.
  • Sowing time and depth: Sow seeds directly outdoors from mid-May to early June, when the risk of spring frosts has completely passed and the soil has warmed to at least +12°C. Sowing depth: 1.5–2 cm.
  • Sowing scheme (distances): Sow in rows with a distance of 80–100 cm between rows. In the row, sow seeds in nests of 2–3 seeds every 15–20 cm. Later, thin out the weaker seedlings.
  • Watering and care: Gherkins require regular and abundant moisture, especially during flowering and active fruit setting. It is recommended to water with lukewarm water directly on the soil.
  • Harvesting (Important!): To obtain true, small gherkins, harvest must be done daily or every other day. Regular picking of small cucumbers stimulates the plant to immediately produce new fruits.

📦 Storage:
Store unopened seeds in their original, sealed packaging in a dry, cool, and dark place until sowing. Protect from excessive moisture, direct sunlight, and garden pests. Use by the expiration date indicated on the back of the package.
