CUCUMBER SEEDS TYTUS F1, 3g
A top-quality, very early heterozygous hybrid variety (Tytus F1), specifically bred for producing high-quality field cucumbers and small gherkins. This reliable hybrid stands out for its pronounced natural vigor, rapid growth, and very high initial yield, ensuring a stable and abundant cucumber harvest from the very beginning of summer. The fruits are neat, short, symmetrical, and cylindrical, with a light green skin, distinct longitudinal stripes, and medium-sized warts. These seeds are an indispensable choice for any gardener who wants to grow firm and crunchy cucumbers that are perfectly suited for home canning, pickling, and preparing winter preserves.
- For classic canning and pickling: This variety (Polish ogórek konserwowy) is exceptionally well-suited for canning in jars – after heat treatment and pickling, the cucumbers fully retain their natural color and texture.
- For growing small gherkins: This variety is ideally suited for harvesting fruits when they are very small and short, having reached their best shape and firmness for making gherkins.
- For home fermentation and quick pickling: Excellent for quick pickling in the summer season – the small cucumbers absorb salt and spices evenly, maintaining a firm flesh without voids.
- For fresh consumption directly from the garden: Thanks to their juicy, aromatic, and mild flesh without bitterness, they make an excellent and healthy summer snack for the whole family.
- Very high early yield: One of the earliest varieties to start producing, yielding sooner than other hybrids, allowing you to enjoy the first crunchy cucumbers at the beginning of summer.
- Excellent complex resistance: Tytus F1 has high natural resistance to downy mildew and scab in cucurbits, ensuring healthy plants and a stable yield even in changing weather conditions.
- Genetically protected against bitterness: Even on hot and dry summer days, these cucumbers do not accumulate bitter compounds, retaining a pleasant, mild, and naturally sweet taste.
- Excellent structure without voids: The fruits have very small seed cavities and dense flesh, ensuring that they do not become soft during processing and fermentation.
- Highest quality seed material: W.Legutko guarantees strict seed selection and high germination rates, ensuring strong seedling development from the very first days.
- Product type: Vegetable seeds – field cucumbers (for canning / gherkins).
- Variety type: Very early heterozygous hybrid (Mieszaniec F1).
- Vegetation period: Very early variety, first harvest approximately 40–45 days after germination.
- Fruit characteristics: Short, cylindrical, light green with distinct stripes and medium-sized warts (ideal gherkin size 3–6 cm).
- Package weight: 3 grams (3g).
- Manufacturer / Brand: W.Legutko (Poland)
- Soil and site preparation: Cucumbers require fertile, humus-rich, warm, and well-drained soil. It is best to choose a sunny and wind-protected location.
- Sowing time and depth: Sow seeds directly outdoors from mid-May to early June, when the risk of spring frosts has completely passed and the soil has warmed to at least +12°C. Sowing depth: 1.5–2 cm.
- Sowing pattern (spacing): Sow in rows with a distance of 80–100 cm between rows. In the row, sow seeds in clusters of 2–3 seeds every 15–20 cm. Later, thin out the weaker seedlings.
- Watering and care: Gherkins require regular and abundant moisture, especially during flowering and active fruit setting. It is recommended to water with lukewarm water directly onto the soil.
- Harvesting (Important!): To get real, small gherkins and the best cucumbers for canning, harvest daily or every other day. Regular picking of small cucumbers stimulates the plant to immediately produce new fruits.
