Highest efficiency, 100% natural and ecologically clean volcanic material (agroperlite) for soil improvement. Specifically designed to improve substrate structure, ensuring excellent soil aeration (breathing) and optimal moisture conditions in the root zone. It is an indispensable aid for growing seedlings, repotting houseplants, and propagating cuttings, guaranteeing healthy and strong root system development without the risk of rotting.
🌱 Suitable for:
  • For growing seedlings and young plants: excellently suited for preparing substrate for tomato, cucumber, pepper, and other vegetable seedlings in spring.
  • For repotting indoor and balcony plants: perfectly suitable for all houseplants, palms, monsteras, as well as balcony flower boxes that require light and loose soil.
  • For propagating cuttings and seeds: an ideal environment for rooting new cuttings and germinating fine seeds in pure form or mixed with peat.
  • For storing bulbs and tubers: an excellent dry material for winterizing tulip, dahlia, and other flower bulbs, protecting them from moisture and mold.
Main advantages:
  • Perfect soil aeration and looseness: Prevents soil compaction, hardening, and crust formation on the surface, ensuring free oxygen access to plant roots.
  • Smart moisture and nutrient control: Acts like a sponge – absorbs excess water and soluble fertilizer during watering, and then gradually releases it to the plant, reducing watering frequency.
  • Protection against root rot: Effectively absorbs excess moisture and prevents water from stagnating at the bottom of the pot, protecting plants from excessive wetness and root rot.
  • Completely sterile and clean material: Contains no weed seeds, pests, disease pathogens, or chemical toxic substances. It is 100% safe and ecological.
  • Stable pH level and neutral environment: Perlite has a neutral reaction (pH 6.5–7.5), so it does not change soil acidity and is suitable for a wide variety of plants.
  • Protects roots from temperature stress: Thanks to its excellent thermal insulation properties, it protects plant roots from sudden cold or overheating on hot summer days.
🧪 Technical data and parameters:
  • Product type: Thermally treated volcanic rock – agroperlite (natural mineral).
  • Function: Substrate structure enhancer, moisture regulator, and soil aerator.
  • Properties: Sterile, neutral, chemically inactive, and porous material.
  • Form: Light, white granules.
  • Volume: 1 liter (1 L).
  • Brand: HORTIS (Latvia).
⚙️ Instructions for use and proportions:
  1. For universal soil mix (for houseplants and seedlings): Mix perlite with regular garden soil or peat substrate in a ratio of 1 part perlite to 3–4 parts soil (approximately 20–25% of the total volume).
  2. For more demanding seedlings or moisture-loving plants: The proportion can be increased to 1 part perlite to 2 parts soil (up to 30–35%).
  3. For rooting cuttings and germinating seeds: Use clean, water-moistened perlite or mix it half-and-half (1:1) with neutral peat.
  4. For a drainage layer in pots: Pour clean perlite into the bottom of a flower pot in a layer 2–4 cm thick to ensure free water drainage.
⚠️ Helpful tip: As perlite can be slightly dusty when dry, it is recommended to lightly spray it with water in the packaging before mixing it with soil.
📦 Storage:
Store in a dry, enclosed place, in original packaging, away from foodstuffs. Keep out of reach of children. The product has an unlimited shelf life.
