A high-quality, mid-early, and exceptionally high-yielding indeterminate plum tomato hybrid that delights gardeners with its excellent harvest quality and visual appeal.Kongo F1 is a premium breeding achievement, particularly renowned for its ability to produce exceptionally uniform, consistent, and heavy fruits along the entire length of the plant – from the lowest to the latest upper trusses. The plant stands out with strong growth vigor, short internodes, and excellent adaptability to temperature fluctuations. The package contains 3 precisely selected and calibrated professional seeds, guaranteeing maximum germination and strong seedling development for the new season.

🍅 Suitable for:
  • Cultivation in glass and film greenhouses: As the plants have an indeterminate growth habit, they efficiently utilize vertical space, ensuring a stable and long-lasting harvest until late autumn.
  • Home canning and processing: The highest-level choice for canning whole fruits, pickling, as well as preparing thick sauces, ketchups, and tomato pastes, thanks to its dense structure.
  • Drying and dehydrating: The fruits have a naturally high dry matter content and low seed liquid, making them an ideal choice for drying tomatoes in the oven or dehydrator.
  • Fresh consumption and pizzas: The firm flesh structure allows the tomatoes to be easily cut into neat, firm slices and wedges that do not fall apart or release excess liquid onto the pizza base or in salads.
Key benefits:
  • Perfect, heavy, and fleshy plum fruits: Tomatoes grow visually flawless, with a distinct plum/oval shape, bright red color, and an average weight of 130 to 160 grams, which is an excellent indicator in this category.
  • Unbeatable balance of taste and aroma: The fruits have a pleasant, expressive, and slightly sweet tomato flavor profile, fully justifying their professional variety status.
  • Maximum resistance to cracking and spoilage: The smooth and firm skin excellently protects the fruits from cracking due to humidity fluctuations in the greenhouse, ensuring an excellent market appearance and long shelf life after harvesting.
  • Compact and productive plant structure: Despite its large size, short internodes ensure that trusses form close to each other. This allows for a significantly higher yield per square meter.
  • Minimizing loss risks with powerful immunity: Kongo F1 has excellent genetic resistance to tomato mosaic virus, tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, as well as brown leaf mold and soil nematodes.

⚙️ Growing instructions and recommendations:
  • Seedling preparation: Sow seeds in seedling trays or individual pots in March and April at a depth of approximately 0.5 cm. Ensure constant warmth (+22°C to +25°C) and maximum light. When the first true leaves are fully developed, carefully prick out the seedlings into individual pots.
  • Planting out: Hardened young seedlings are planted in the greenhouse in the second half of May, when the soil has warmed sufficiently and the risk of frost has completely passed. The recommended planting distance is approximately 60x50 cm between plants.
  • Training and support: As this is a tall variety, the plants absolutely require stable support (strings or tall stakes). It is recommended to train the bush to a single main stem, regularly and promptly removing all side shoots (suckers).
  • Watering and care: Water tomatoes regularly, directly at the root, preferably in the first half of the day with warm, settled water. To ensure fruit density and prevent blossom end rot, it is recommended to monitor calcium and potassium levels in the soil during the growing and fruiting season.
📦 Storage:
Store seeds in a dry, cool, and dark place in their original, hermetically sealed packaging until sowing. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
